Your Visit to Newton Highlands Chiropractic
Your first visit to Newton Highlands Chiropractic will last about one hour After written intake information is collected, a thorough consultation and health history will help Dr. Staulo to begin to understand your condition. During the consultation, Dr. Staulo will ask about the location and severity of the pain, possible causes, activities that cause pain and much more.
The consultation is followed by a comprehensive examination. This includes orthopedic, neurological and chiropractic testing of the injury and related areas. Finally, Dr. Staulo will take spinal x- rays as needed to properly diagnose and treat each patient’s condition ..
Based on these examinations, Dr. Staulo will form a diagnosis and the first treatment begins.Althougfh preventive care is encouraged, many patients begin care suffering with a high level of pain. The first spinal adjustment is made using techniques that are appropriate for the level of the patient’s discomfort.
Your Return Visit
Instructions for 24- hour care are carefully given to the new patient. A second appointment is scheduled for the next day. Once care begins Dr. Staulo is available on a 24 - hour basis throughout the acute period.
On the second visit, the therapeutic results of the first visit are evaluated. At this time Dr. Staulo presents a full explanation of the new patients condition and makes recommendations for a treatment plan to address the problems. The goals of the patient’s treatment are discussed. Dr. Staulo will explain to the patient specific lifestyle modifications the patient should make in order to make their care more successful. These may include postural changes, sleeping habits and exercise routines. Dr. Staulo and the new patient begin to develop a working partnership with the common goal of pain relief and good health.
